  Hossein gained his MSc investigating control methods for apple and apricot fire blight, from the Science and Research Campus of Azad University in Tehran, Iran. He is very interested in using new techniques like geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) in plant disease management. His MSc project enabled the first predictions of potential epidemic of fire blight in a province in Iran. He also taught remote sensing and GIS at the Islamic Azad University of Zahedan.

  Hossein's PhD project will focus on modelling plant diseases and integrating GIS with current models. He is supervised by Assoc Prof Sue Worner and Dr Eirian Jones.
