Academic and Professional Background

• Personal Resume: Melanie Mark-Shadbolt (Ngäti Kahungunu, Ngäti Porou, Te Äti Awa, Ngäti Raukawa) profiles the Centre to Maori communities and agencies, subsequently establishing and identifying potential collaborations with these groups. She is also developing an outreach programme to profile bioprotection to Maori students and stakeholders.

  Her background is in working with iwi - specifically in relation to student development and support. Melanie previously worked for Te Tapuae o Rehua - a not-for-profit, joint venture between Ngäi Tahu and five major tertiary institutions including Lincoln University. While there she held various positions, with the final one being the Tu Mai Programme Leader.
