Academic and Professional Background

  • Personal Resume: A strong interest in insects prompted Sam to travel south to Lincoln University, which he regards as the best place in New Zealand to study entomology.

    Now working on his Masters, Sam's Thesis title is: Molecular systematics of the Carpophilus species (Coleoptera: Nititulidae) of the South Pacific.

    Lincoln University has the best university collection of insects in New Zealand - the perfect resource for Sam's research.

    Prior to becoming a student with the Centre, Sam graduated from Waikato University with a Bachelor of Science (Tech), majoring in biological science and chemistry.
