Tony's research activities focus on:
- integration of biotechnology and genomics into breeding programmes of arable and vegetable crops
- genetic manipulation of plant cells, especially potatoes, for resistance and quality traits
- design and development of gene transfer vectors
- genetic recombination in plants
- environmental and food biosafety of genetically-improved crops.
