Mariona Roige gained a Bachelor's degree in Economics, from the University of Girona (Spain). While studying her degree, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant in GRECS (Research Group in Statistics, Econometrics and Health) which is a research group belonging to the UdG.
In her last year of her degree, she obtained a scholarship to work as a statistics consultant assistant in UAE (Statistical Assistance Unit) also in the University. Then she studied a MSc in Environmental Sciences and developed a Master's Thesis about changes in spatial distribution of endangered animal and plant species due to climate change.
In the Centre, Mariona is studying the structure of global invasive species assemblages and their relationship to regional habitat variables. Mariona is supervised by Assoc Prof Sue Worner, and funded by the NESSIE-Erasmus Mundus scholarship from the European Union.
