Bula Vinaka, my name is Mesu Tora, and I am a PhD student focusing on soil health in Fiji and the role of microbial communities in agroecosystems. I hold a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of the South Pacific, and an MSc in Horticultural Science from Massey University. My goal is to strengthen research in Pacific soil microbiology while inspiring Pasifika youth to pursue science. Fun fact, I never start my day without coffee and I’m always hunting for the perfect brew wherever I go. In fact, on my first trip to Japan I was so focused on coffee I forgot all about sushi!
