I am a PhD student studying microbiology in the Fineran Lab at the University of Otago, working with bacteriophages. Currently, I am investigating phage-phage competition and its abundance in the environment. I began my academic journey at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, earning a Bachelor’s degree in biology. I then decided to pursue a Master’s degree in microbiology, also at Friedrich Schiller University. During my master’s program, I was introduced to bacteriophages and amazed by their ubiquitous abundance and potential applications in medicine, industry, and agriculture.
