What We're Exploring

Agroforestry systems strengthen community resilience to climate change by providing food, fuel, fibre, medicine, and other essential ecosystem services. In Fiji, agroforestry is already recognised as a land management approach that supports both environmental conservation and the needs of communities.

This project explores how sustainable agroforestry can help Pacific communities adapt to climate change. It will examine the economic and social impacts on smallholder farmers, investigate emerging pathogens within agroforestry systems, identify practices that support seedling growth and biodiversity, and map pathways for invasive weeds. Together, these insights will support more resilient and adaptable agroforestry systems across the Pacific
